Sunset on Destruction

I went through the city of Moore for the first time tonight; the TV images can’t even begin to convey how horrible the reality is. It is so very sad. I also went through Country Club Estates in Newcastle (my hometown). My heart is so heavy for all the families that have been affected by these storms. In Moore, I went by one of my favorite horse ranches/stables. It was gone! I don’t mean flattened with debris lying around; I mean completely gone! All the barns, stables, fences and unfortunately all the beautiful animals that were boarded and raised there. I don’t know how many animals perished, but as a horse lover, my heart is breaking. My own horse saved my life in more than one way as I was growing up. I can’t imagine the fear they must have felt.

Please keep praying for the families, the clean up crews, the volunteers and the insurance companies!

This image is the only one I’ve taken of any tornado damage (I know, very unphotojournalistic of me). The juxtaposition between the beautiful sunset behind the utter and total destruction struck a chord with me.
