Touch of Color 2

I love the contrast from the brilliant green of the velvety moss and the warm fall colors of fallen leaves.

Not the brilliant orange and reds, but this ash tree has a color all its own.

A Touch of Color 1

Here in central Oklahoma, the colors are just beginning to change. I love fall for all it offers, especially the colors.

Over the last few days, I have taken images around my yard and at a nearby pumpkin patch. I will be post a couple each day; I also wanted to show off my newest software, the NIK Collection, which is AWESOME! It has definitely made my life easier (if not more time consuming) in the area of photo editing.

A Red Maple during a light rain. This is a straight shot using my D800 and editing in Potoshop. I further edited it in Viveza 2, part of the NIK software collection.

This is the same as the first shot, but I took it into HDR Efex Pro 2 to give it more attention. I'm loving this software.

Happy Fall Y’all

More Phonegraphy

I get a brand new camera, a new flash, a couple of lenses, a new tripod and what do I do? Go out a take photos with my phone, what else?

The truth is, with all this new equipment, I still don’t have anything to take macro shots with, and well, I love macro. Especially when it comes to all the bright colors that fall has to offer.

However, in my neck of the woods, the leaves are just beginning to turn (I have one in my yard – that is ONE leaf). But after this weekends dip into the 30s perhaps the colors will prevail. But I did just plant a plethora of pansies all with pretty faces and colors. This would have been a great for the saturation photo challenge!

So without further ado:

Leaving Anger ~ Regaining Hope

This is from my friend Paula (Stuff I tell my sister), which she posted from Senator Brinkley – It really sums up what we need to be feeling.

This is yesterday’s Facebook post from Oklahoma State Senator Rick Brinkley. It spoke to me….and I wanted to pass it along.  Here’s to courage.  Here’s to Hope.

Over the past few weeks, we‚Äôve seen the government shut down, neighborhoods in fear because of so many shootings, outrage over the beating death of a 2-year-old,¬†and a nation with its priorities so out of whack that it‚Äôs government thought it could shut down open air memorials¬†and not pay the death benefits of its soldiers. Benefits that go to the most vulnerable of our society‚Ķ.the spouses & the children of soldiers who gave their full measures for our freedom while the government they are fighting for ‚Äúforgot‚ÄĚ about their children, spouses, and parents.

We all whine about the ‚Äúway things are.‚ÄĚ But, this nation was not founded, designed, nor defended by whiners. In the formation of our nation, our Founding Fathers may have momentarily‚Ķ
