Fall Joy

There is something sublime about the innocence of youth. And what could be more youthful than playing in fallen leaves. This was taken of my (then) five-year-old grandson, Owen, while I was taking his portrait. We were trying to get him to relax and give us a natural smile. Papa started throwing leaves in the air, and he just started playing. It worked and he came through with a purely natural and oh so Owen smile, and I got this very unexpected and fantastic candid shot. It remains one of my personal favorites.
